The town of Velturno

Velturno (850 m), a mountain location in a sunny position halfway between Chiusa and Bressanone, is one of the most loved tourist destinations in the Val d'Isarco.

The charming town, with its hotels rich in tradition, gothic churches and a crenellated Renaissance castle dating back to 1577, has ancient origins. Now, in what was the summer residence of the princes/bishops of Bressanone, modern culture has merged with ancient traditions for concerts and performances in the open air, creating a unique experience every time.
Straight above Unterwirt Hotel is Velturno’s Renaissance castle. The Alpine huts on the surrounding mountains are excellent destinations for excursions.
